Volunteer

Agency

Development Assistant - Flexible hours
Assist our development team with fundraising activities (Grant writing, planning, coordinating, or participating in our annual campaign)

Hospitality/Greeter - 2 hours/month (day or evening)
Assist at weekly agency orientations - the Best Place to Start. Tuesdays from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. or Thursdays 6-8 p.m.

Marketing Consultant - As needed
Work with our communications team through writing and editing.

Office & Events Assistant - varies (daytime)
Assist with general office duties such as filing, copying, mailings, data entry, class set-up and processing job postings. Help serve food, set-up, greeting guests and clean-up at events.

Phone Caller - varies (daytime and/or evening)
Make calls to new and existing clients, donors and supporters of WomenVenture. Make thank-you calls, respond to general interest inquiry and follow-up with clients.

Photographer - Flexible
Add to our client and staff photograph file for use in publications, etc.

Research Assistant - 4 hours/month
Assist staff in gathering follow-up data from clients and other research.

 

Business

Graphic Artist - 3 hours/month
Work with clients to design marketing materials, business cards, etc.

Small Business Consultant - 3 hours/month (day and evening)
Meet individually with business clients in your area of expertise, during 10- or 60- minute consultations that are arranged by our staff. Volunteers meet at pre-established times with clients at volunteer's convenience. General business background required.

Trainer - Business Classes - 2-4 hours per month, day or evening
Using WomenVenture's curriculum, teach one of our business classes. Classes including The Business Plan, Marketing, Sales, etc. Check our current class catalog for more information on specific classes.

Writer - 4 hours/session (day and evening)
Assist clients in developing marketing materials.

 

Career

Career Consultant - 2 hours/month
Meet one-on-one with clients offering career advice, guidance and resume and cover letter critiques during 10- or 60- minute consultations that are arranged by our staff. Volunteers meet at pre-established times with clients at volunteer's convenience.

Informational Interview Contact or Coordinator - 2 -4 hours/month (day or evening)
Share your expertise and network with our clients to help them develop their career. Either serve as a Interview Contact, offering your time and network to assist others, or work with WomenVenture to establish and create informational interview contact lists as a Interview Coordinator.

Life Coach - 2-10 hours / month (day or evening)
Meet with clients to help with career and life issues. Requires 3-month commitment; pre-arranged weekly schedule to be arranged at volunteer's convenience. Life coaching certification is required.

Support Group Facilitator - 3 hours / month (day and evening)
Facilitate a monthly support group for job seekers and those in career transition.

Trainer - Career Classes - 2-4 hours/month (day and evening)
Teach a career class (or more than one) including Career & life Planning, job search classes, financial management, sexual harrassment prevention, personal empowerment, networking, etc. Check our current class schedule for dates, times and descriptions.

 

Financial Literacy

Financial Literacy Consultant - 3 hours/month (day and evening)
Meet one-on-one with clients offering financial advice and counseling during 10- or 60- minute appointments that are arranged by our staff. Volunteers meet at pre-established times with clients at volunteer's convenience.

Financial Literacy Trainer - 3-9 hours per month, day or evening
Teach a financial literacy class (or more than one) including: Budgeting to Create Savings, Debt Reduction and Asset Building, Building a Good Credit Rating, and Consumer Protection and Financial Institutions. Check our current class schedule for dates, times and descriptions.
