Biography

Danielle grew up in the Twin Cities, and after suffering through 18 Minnesota winters, moved south for college. Attending Loyola University in New Orleans, her studies focused on Sociology and her free time focused on food, music and fun. The cultural depth in the area opened her up to a lifelong love of travel and exploration of the breadth of diversity in the world. Her time in New Orleans was not all rosy though, as Hurricane Katrina interrupted her life and the lives of all those in the city. It did, however, provide powerful lessons in resilience, adaptability and the human spirit in the face of adversity.

After graduating from college, Danielle worked as a legal secretary, adding many administrative skills to her repertoire while assisting five attorneys with reception, document production, trademark applications and court filings. In true New Orleans style, the office was filled with fun, laughter, family style meals and even periodic guitar breaks. Eventually, she decided to move on from the Southern charm, and settled in Boise, where she worked as an office manager for a catering company. This role required constant multi-tasking, as she was responsible for organizing the office, crafting policies and procedures, creating menu ideas and writing recipes, tracking client orders and preferences, training staff on best practices, leading staff on events and preparing meals that were as delicious as they were beautifully presented. While in Boise, her love of the outdoors grew, and she spent much of her free time hiking the trails in the local foothills and mountains surrounding the city.

Danielle moved back to the Twin Cities in 2016, and shortly thereafter accepted a position with WomenVenture. She has held several roles at WomenVenture, and is currently working in a fundraising capacity managing grant proposals and reports, organizing agency systems related to fundraising and working with the rest of the Development Team to create a sustainable funding future for the organization. Her free time is spent hiking, gardening, camping, cooking and traveling to explore this great big world.
