Biography

After graduating from Northwest Missouri State University with a B.S. in Public Relations, Kathy moved to the Twin Cities, beginning her career as lead customer service for Northwest Racquet Clubs. She soon moved to a national customer service role with A Taste of France (div. of McGlynn Bakeries) and remained with the national division of McGlynn Bakeries for 10 years, serving in management roles in customer service, promotions and operations.

Prior to arriving at WomenVenture in late 2015, Kathy worked for a number of small businesses in administration, accounting and operations. She also spent a number of years as a small business owner in the technology sector. This experience is vital to her role with WomenVenture, as she consults with loan clients to manage accounting and operations. “Knowing the numbers” is vital to the success of small business and a struggle for many small business owners. Kathy is passionate about teaching women to understand the importance of their financials and learn how to manage financial data effectively.

Outside of the office, Kathy enjoys spending time with her dogs, DIY home improvements – especially in the yard and garden, checking out the local brewery scene, and spending time with a large extended family.

Interesting Fact

I’ve loved playing the drums since my brother made a drum set out of potato chip cans when I was in 4th grade.
