Biography

Maliza graduated from Howard University with a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Afro-American studies. She did her teaching residency at Johns Hopkins Graduate School of Education with a focus on Urban Education and Special Ed. She started her career in Washington DC and taught special education for years before transitioning out of the classroom into program management and higher education. Her interest in educational programming is fueled by a passion for creating access and equitable inclusion which is apparent in both her professional and service endeavors. She oversaw the entrance of the largest and most diverse class in history this past year as the Assistant Director of Multicultural Recruitment with the University of Minnesota before joining WomenVenture. Maliza has a strong track record for effective implementation, management, and strategic planning yet at the core remains a strong believer in lifelong learning and being a forever student.

Maliza loves her role and is grateful to lead training process innovation for excellent client experiences and industry-leading training-related deliverables. She strives to live out the WomenVenture values of impact, innovation, and inclusion each day. Outside of work Maliza enjoys trying new recipes, sewing, and watching YouTube in the gym.
