Why It Matters

Obstacles for Women (or The Problem)

The number of women-owned businesses has grown 58% since 2007, with minority-women-owned businesses growing even faster – 163% over the past decade. Gaps in business knowledge, poor business planning, and lack of a support network are major barriers to launch and these businesses.

As a result of these challenges, women-owned businesses tend to be less productive than their men-led counterparts, accounting for a mere 4.3% of total annual business revenues.

“If revenues generated by minority-women-owned firms matched those currently generated by all women-owned businesses, they would add four million new jobs and $1.2 trillion in revenues to the U.S. economy.”

How We Help (or The Solution)

Our clients have the drive, vision, and dream to create successful small businesses; but inequity has limited their options about which industries to enter and how aggressively to pursue growth. WomenVenture's training, loans, coaching, and community of support provide the holistic resources women need to lead profitable and sustainable businesses.

Without WomenVenture’s services, many would be forced to operate outside of the economic mainstream, pay higher rates for their business capital, or never have the opportunity to realize their dreams of business ownership.

We're here to uplift women. To give them to tools they need. To help realize potential. To strive for equality.
