We’ll also be hosting community engagement activities to support our Twin Cities business community during this difficult time:

  • Donation collection for the Hallie Q. Brown Center: Bring one (or more) of the following items to donate to Hallie Q. Brown Community Center’s food shelf and be entered to win a $50 gift card to a local business! (Soup, tuna, canned chicken, long grain white or brown rice, pasta sauce, canned diced tomatoes, pasta sauce)
  • Letter writing to local representatives: Write letters to local lawmakers urging them to invest in small business support and protections
  • Letter writing to impacted business owners: Write letters of support, solidarity, and hope to business owners that have been impacted by federal operations in the Twin Cities

We will be joined by a number of Twin Cities resource partners including Neighborhood Development Center (NDC), Latino Economic Development Center (LEDC), MN Promise Act, African Development Center (ADC), and LISC. Learn about the services these incredible organizations offer to Twin Cities entrepreneurs.

  • NDC supports entrepreneurs, from startup to expansion. “NDC believes our success and innovation is a result of regular, systematic evaluation. We know our work only matters if it has a real and definable impact on our entrepreneurs and their communities.”
  • MN PROMISE Act is a new state-funded small business revitalization program that will provide grants and loans to disadvantaged businesses located in certain areas of Minneapolis, Saint Paul and greater-Minnesota. Learn more about the program, eligibility requirements, and application process.
  • Latino Economic Development Center (LEDC) is an organization created by Latinos, for Latinos. They provide classes, workshops, one-on-one assistance, agricultural assistance services, a kitchen incubator, and loans as a Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI).
  • African Development Center aims to grow businesses, build wealth, and increase reinvestment for all, especially in the African communities of Minnesota.
  • LISC supports real estate projects that benefit community residents, opportunity centers that help people achieve financial stability, and creative placemaking that improves neighborhood economies.

This event is open to both pre- and post-launch entrepreneurs. Whether you’re operational or still figuring things out, you’re welcome to come make meaningful connections.

This event is open to all gender identities. Light snacks and N/A beverages will be provided.
