Are you working in a particular field (banking, IT, HR, for example) and have skills that you’d like to use to support women entrepreneurs? Would you like to mentor entrepreneurs one on one through a course?
WomenVenture relies on the expertise of volunteers to help our clients along their entrepreneurial journey. We are seeking a diverse pool of volunteers from all backgrounds. Volunteers support WomenVenture’s training program as advisors and mentors in the following areas of expertise: accounting, business and employment law, finance, human resources, insurance, marketing, sales, operations, and other business topics.
QuickBooks Education Volunteers
Cohort-Based QuickBooks Trainer: Lead or co-facilitate WomenVenture’s monthly QuickBooks cohort training course using WomenVenture’s curriculum. Support participants through guided practice, discussion, and Q&A, and provide feedback on curriculum effectiveness. Training courses are held virtually in the evenings twice a month. LEARN MORE
1:1 Client Coach: Provide educational coaching to help clients use QuickBooks or other bookkeeping systems, improve accounting habits, review books, understand trends, and prepare for future planning using a “teach-with”, not “do-for” approach. Coaching is typically held virtually during daytime hours, or as schedule allows for volunteer and coach. LEARN MORE
Tools & Resource Developer: Support the creation or improvement of client tools and learning resources such as tutorials, guides, or templates. This volunteer role work can be accomplished as schedule and time allows. LEARN MORE
Training Volunteers
Mentor: Volunteer mentors support participants in WomenVenture’s Launched & Growing course, motivating participants in their early-stages of entrepreneurship with operating businesses. Mentors meet with participants once per month for six months following graduation. WomenVenture is actively seeking volunteers who identify as BIPOC or LGBTQ+ so we have a diverse pool of talent when pairing participants and volunteers. LEARN MORE
