This course will guide business owners through developing financial savvy, using strategic marketing, and creating a plan for long-term growth. Participants will also be placed in a BWC® Peer Circle for six months following the end of the program for mutual support and accountability.
Courses are facilitated by subject matter experts and are available in-person and online.
Session 1: Kickoff
Build community within your cohort, explore the effects of capital on your business, and begin utilizing goal-setting strategies.
Session 2: Financial Statements & Accounting
Understand the elements of and purpose for income statements and balance sheets and explore how you can manage your bookkeeping and accounting resources effectively.
Session 3: One-on-One Financial Consultation
Meet individually with facilitators to explore your accounts and identify areas to improve “clean” accounting practices.
Session 4: Budgets, Cash Flow, and Forecasts
Understand the elements and purpose of a budget, explore the use of cash flow projections, and walk through how forecasting can be utilized for early action and performance indicators within your business.
Session 5: Unlocking Financial Statements for Decision Making
Explore the effects of margins and markups on your profit and look into how standard financial ratios can be calculated and used in your business.
Session 6: Financial Analysis and Decision Making
Create a break-even analysis for your business and articulate the strategies and systems you will utilize to create financial well-being and growth.
Session 7: Sources of Capital
Dig into your options for securing capital and begin to utilize a SWOT analysis to set strategies for your future.
Session 8: Foundations of Marketing
Share your SWOT analysis and explore the core elements of marketing for your business.
Session 9: Developing a Marketing Plan
Understand your target audience and how to position your brand to be unique in the market.
Session 10: Activating and Evaluating Marketing
Explore effective strategies for marketing and channels and begin to build a marketing plan for long-term success.
Session 11: Wrapping Up
Consider a variety of marketing tactics and determine meaningful financial and marketing metrics for your business.
Session 12: Graduation
Share and receive feedback on your financial and marketing growth plan.
- You must have been in business for at least two years
- Your annual revenue must be $100,000 or more
- You must be able to attend at least 80% of the classes. Attendance is a critical part of completing this course
2024 Course Dates
Classes are held on Tuesdays, 9:00 am – 12:00 pm. In-person courses will be held at WomenVenture’s office at The Coven St. Paul.
August 20 – November 5, 2024: This course will be held in-person.
Registration for Accelerating Success is by application only. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis and class size is limited to ensure the best learning experience for the participants.
To submit your application you will need detailed business information, including target audience and differentiator, and financial statements for the last two years of business. You will also be asked to include information about your goals for growth.
