Sabrina Jones, CEO and Founder of SJC Body Love is working to bring products that are simple, clean, and indulgent to a national audience.
Sabrina launched her business in 2015 to take control of her own health and find a better way to deal with her pregnancy, stress, and eczema. She researched essential oils and started combining them with other natural ingredients, such as shea butter and carrier oils, and began sharing her products with friends and family. Interest and demand for her products grew which motivated Sabrina to start SJC Body Love. People facing medical issues such as lupus and cancer felt soothed and comforted by SJC Body Love’s skin solutions where other skin care products had not helped.
In Spring of 2022, Sabrina graduated from WomenVenture’s Accelerating Success course to help SJC Body Love grow on a national level. Currently, they are selling their products in shops with the Minnesota Twins, The Electric Fetus, Enhance M.D. Body & Skin Clinic, and NorWester Lodge. Sabrina has had multiple conversations with Fortune 500 businesses on partnering to expand sales, but has been challenged by supply issues, insurance requirements, and gaining access to capital.
Sabrina shared that Accelerating Success “helped me to understand how to better set myself up for a line of credit. The cohort was so helpful and made it simple to understand issues of pricing, both break-even numbers and profit margins. It’s there. Putting the numbers down helps me stay focused on my goals. Accelerating Success also helped with marketing strategy. The cohort provided me with a network of other women who are moving through barriers.”
Sabrina shares that her biggest assets have been the product itself, her branding, and her persistence in maintaining certifications to be competitive in the health care arena. She is proud to lead a multicultural, mission-driven company that gives back to the community. Her goal is to make SJC Body Love a nationally known clean, gender-neutral brand that uplifts her customers and the community.
